Karen Rancani has been serving the Maple Shade community as a Charlie Brown’s Steakhouse employee since the restaurant first opened in 1984. Lynn Avallone joined Rancani in November, 1984.

Charlie Brown's Steakhouse Plans to Open Its Doors in Scotch Plains
SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ (November 7, 2007)-- The construction is complete for the new 6,744 square foot Charlie Brown's Steakhouse in Scotch Plains, and Tuesday, October 16, 2007, marked the grand reopening of the steakhouse that has served Scotch Plains since June 1, 1975.
Russell D'Anton, president and CEO of Charlie Brown's Steakhouse, was joined by Mayor Martin Marks to perform the ribbon cutting ceremony of the new steakhouse on 2376 North Avenue.
The reopening ceremony and reception was attended by political, corporate and community leaders along with former Scotch Plains' steakhouse employees, Cahill Studios and Charlie Brown's architect Lauro Associates.
"After January's tragic fire, we are proud to once again serve the Scotch Plains community. The new restaurant is a new building and has a new décor, but is still the same Charlie Brown's that has been a part of Scotch Plains since 1975." said D'Anton. "I would also like to thank all who have shown their heartfelt concern and patience through our time of devastation and restoration."
The new building has 210 seats and is 1,855 square feet larger than the original building. After a renovation and expansion in 2004, the restaurant grew to 5,900 square feet.
Charlie Brown's Restaurants Announces Switch to Zero Trans Fat Cooking Oil
All 63 Restaurants Plan to Convert to Benefit Health of Guests
MOUNTAINSIDE, NJ (November 7, 2007)-- Charlie Brown's Steakhouse, The Office Beer Bar & Grill and The Jolly Trolley Bar & Grill will switch to a zero trans fat cooking oil by the end of April in all of the company's 63 restaurants throughout New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania to benefit the health of their guests.
After several months of testing, the New Jersey based restaurant chain will be switching from a soy liquid fry oil to a trans fat free soy bean oil.
According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), low-density lipoprotein is raised by the consumption of trans fat, saturated fat and dietary cholesterol which in turn increases the risk of coronary heart disease.
"We are proud to announce that Charlie Brown's Restaurants is switching to a zero trans fat cooking oil for all of our fried foods," Russell D'Anton, president and CEO of Charlie Brown's Restaurants, said. "After several months of testing, we have found an oil that does not alter the taste of our food and is healthier for our guests."
The entire 63 restaurant chain will be converted by May 1, 2007.
